Module 3: Lesson 2

Mindset of Meal Planning and Shopping

Alright, let’s just call it out—right now, some of you are thinking, Ugh, meal planning and grocery shopping? Just more chores to pile onto my never-ending to-do list. I get it. But here’s the truth: meal planning and intentional shopping aren’t just tasks to check off. They’re opportunities. And when you take a Mindful Foodie approach, they can actually make you feel like you are doing something good.

Hear me out—when you shift your mindset from Ugh, I have to do this to Wow, I get to do this, everything changes. This isn’t just about making a list and sticking to it. It’s about recognizing that every choice you make in the kitchen is a reflection of your values. It’s about gratitude. It’s about knowing that your food choices aren’t just fueling your body—they’re supporting your family, your community, and even the planet.

Back in Module 1, we talked about how food is more than just nourishment. It’s a way to care for yourself and the people you love. And guess what? Meal planning and shopping is part of that. When you plan with intention, you’re not just reducing stress—you’re giving yourself the gift of ease. You’re taking control. You’re making thoughtful decisions that align with who you are and what matters to you. And that? That’s powerful.

So let’s stop looking at meal planning and shopping like they’re some soul-sucking obligation and start seeing them for what they really are—a chance to take care of yourself in a way that makes life better and more fulfilling. When you look for the positive, you’ll find it—and that sure beats the alternative.

Now that you’ve tackled meal planning and built your shopping list, you’re walking into that store with purpose and confidence. No more wandering the aisles feeling overwhelmed or grabbing random stuff you don’t need. You’ve already done the hard work, and now it’s just about following through. In the next lesson will learn how when have a plan and the right mindset, you shop smarter, save time, and stick to your plan so grocery trips feel less stressful, and you might find that you actually enjoy it. Let’s do this!
